Essential Oils & Aroma Therapy

Picture

What are Essential Oils?

  • Essential oils are aromatic, volatile (quickly evaporated) liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds.
  • Essential oils are highly concentrated and potent.  It often requires an entire plant or more to produce a single drop of distilled essential oil. Unlike vegetable oils, essential oils are not greasy. They do not clog the pores.
  • Essential oils are complex substances. Any given oil may contain anywhere from 80-300 or more different chemical constitutes.  It is these constitutes that contribute to the oil's therapeutic effects. To preserve these constitutes, Young Living distills using stainless steel cooking chambers at low pressure and low temperature. Oils distilled in other ways will NOT yield the pure, therapeutic grade essential oil. The therapeutic effects can only be achieved using essential oils which meet the AFNOR standards. (Association French Normalization Organization Regulation)
  • Essential oils penetrate cell membranes and diffuse throughout the blood and tissues. The chemical structure of the oils is similar to that of human cells and tissues making them highly compatible with human protein. Therefore, they are readily accepted into the body.
  • Essential oils are versatile. They provide numerous, beneficial effects on the body while maintaining the body's balance and homeostasis. These oils contain one or more of these benefits: anti-viral----anti bacterial---anti-microbial---anti-inflammatory---antitumoral---antiseptic---anesthetic---antispasmodic--- &---anti-aging. They stimulate secretion of antibodies, neurotransmitters, endorphins, hormones, and enzymes. They support positive psychological effects. They increase the uptake of oxygen and ATP (the fuel for individual cells). They HEAL.
